Les Machines de l'Ile
In our opinion, the real highlight of Nantes is Les Machines de L'ile. Lesson. Les Machines de L'ile can be described as a large artistic project with life-size machines in the shape of animals. The project can be found in one of the city's former shipyards. The highlight of our visit was seeing the large mechanical elephant. This giant robotic elephant is really impressive and walks around with people on her back! Buy your tickets here and be surprised by even more machines.
The castle of the Dukes of Brittany
The Castle of the Dukes of Brittany is a historical gem in the heart of Nantes and is a must-see for history buffs. This beautiful castle dates back to the 15th century and has been restored and converted into a museum and cultural center in recent years. Inside you will find various exhibitions that take you on a journey through the history of the city and the region. You can see the beautiful architecture and decorations up close and learn about the castle's role in the history of Nantes. The castle also has a beautiful view of the city from the tower, so don't forget to go up and enjoy the panoramic view. Oh and in our opinion a nice extra; the castle has a slide that goes down the castle wall.
Le Lieu Unique
Originally a biscuit factory, Le Lieu Unique has been converted into a center for contemporary art, literature and ideas. It has an industrial look while retaining the original features of the building, such as the brick walls and high ceilings. Inside you will find a library, theater, exhibition space and a restaurant.
